Our family recently went through several very anxious days, when you realise especially clearly that everything is in the doctor’s hands. We are deeply grateful to Dr Ambrosi Pertia and Dr Giorgi Sharashenidze, who performed my husband’s operation. The situation required not only exceptional skill, but also the ability to make important decisions during the operation itself. They worked with remarkable precision, calmness, and complete understanding of one another. From the first consultation to the postoperative care, everything was organised professionally, consistently, and with great respect for the patient. There were no unnecessary promises or fuss, only a clear understanding of the situation and full responsibility for every decision. Above all, we are immensely grateful for the successful outcome of the operation. But we will also always remember what cannot be bought: genuine care, warm human support, and the feeling of safety we experienced throughout this difficult time. Good afternoon. I want to inform and warn you that I have a very negative experience with Arsen Muratashvili (Aramyan Hospital - Urology). The surgeon knew from the very beginning that he could not perform the operation, but he did not say anything and did not explain. My father is 83 years old and needed to have stones removed from his bladder. He has had 2 heart attacks, has stents placed, and currently has non-aggressive dementia. Muratashvili postponed the operation five times for various reasons, initially neglecting to review the medical history, forgetting that he needed to stop taking one medication five days before the operation, then changed one method of the operation to another, and then simply postponed the operation day several times without any reason. There was no plan for preparing for the operation, which raised questions that had no clear answers. We had to consult with another doctor about the pre-operative period, which Muratashvili expressed dissatisfaction with... When we came to the hospital for the fourth time in the morning to operate, Muratashvili postponed the operation again from the morning until 16:00. After waiting until the end of the day, it turned out that the operation was postponed to another day (for the fifth time). He refused me, saying that we should go home, and that my father could have nothing but yogurt. Considering the patient's age and complex medical history (he could not survive two days without food and water), I had to refuse the operation. I paid for the tests and took my father home. I can only draw one conclusion: Arsen Muratashvili understood that he was incompetent, feared that he would not be able to perform this operation. As it turned out later, he had a negative experience with another patient with a similar medical history and did not want to put his reputation at risk. The surgeon should have told us about his fears in advance and refused to perform the operation, for which we would have been grateful. However, he did everything to ensure that after a month and a half of negotiations, endless visits, nerves, health, lost time, and money, we ourselves refused the operation. I have never experienced such humiliation. No respect, compassion, or sense of guilt for what happened, complete indifference, ignorance, and a completely unprofessional approach to work... It's a shame that patients are in the hands of such doctors.
