Beta Plus Fertility

This is a review I genuinely wish I didn’t have to write. We initially signed up with New Life, based in Georgia, with Beta Plus Fertility serving as the clinic they use. While I was in Georgia, I made enough deposits to create 12 vials of genetic material for our surrogacy journey. Several days ago, New Life informed us that there has been a separation between New Life and Beta Plus. We were not involved in whatever business dispute or circumstances led to that separation. I also want to make something very clear from the outset: New Life has been wonderful throughout this situation. They have been communicative, accommodating, and have made genuine efforts to help us navigate an incredibly stressful situation. Our complaint is not with New Life. Our issue is specifically with Beta Plus Fertility and its handling of our genetic material. We signed a document expressly stating that we wanted our 12 vials transferred to the new clinic. Despite those written instructions, we have been told that Beta Plus will not release or transfer our genetic material. As of the time I am writing this review, our material has not been transferred as we requested. To say that this is unacceptable is an understatement. Whatever disagreement or business dispute exists between Beta Plus and New Life should have absolutely nothing to do with our ability to determine what happens to our own genetic material. We are patients and clients caught in the middle of a situation we did not create. Our genetic material should not become leverage, collateral, or an asset in a dispute between two businesses. This situation becomes even more troubling because we have found reports from numerous other couples describing similar difficulties, including people who say they have embryos involved and, in at least one case we encountered, an ongoing pregnancy. I encourage anyone considering this clinic to research these accounts for themselves. During my communications with Beta Plus, I stated that I believed withholding our genetic material despite our written instructions was unlawful and that, if the situation was not resolved, I intended to publicly describe our experience. In response, I was threatened with legal action for defamation. That response was deeply concerning. For that reason, I want to be especially clear: I am describing our experience as accurately as I can, and I have documentation relating to the events described in this review. I am not interested in exaggerating what happened or attacking anyone. I am interested in getting our genetic material transferred according to our instructions so that our family can move forward. This is particularly heartbreaking because we have already experienced setback after setback in our efforts to have another child. We were incredibly excited to begin this process with New Life, and New Life has continued to be supportive and accommodating throughout this ordeal. Instead of being able to focus on moving forward, we are now dealing with the additional stress of trying to regain control over genetic material that belongs to us. I was genuinely impressed when I first entered Beta Plus Fertility. The facility and my initial experience gave me confidence that we were in good hands. That makes the way this situation has subsequently been handled all the more shocking and disappointing. We are asking for something very simple: honor our written instructions and transfer our genetic material to the clinic we have designated. We sincerely hope Beta Plus resolves this immediately. We also hope that every other family experiencing similar circumstances reaches a resolution soon. Fertility and surrogacy are already emotionally difficult processes. Families should not have to experience additional fear and uncertainty over whether their genetic material will be released when they request it.

This company couldn't care less about the law. Just to keep the middlemen happy and protect its own business, it won't hesitate to hide existing clients' information. It's pitch-black — be very careful.

They charge $1,000 for a procedure that costs 700 GEL at another clinic This was the first clinic we contacted, and we did several tests there. Unfortunately, the test results were not very good, so we decided to repeat them at another clinic closer to our home. At the other clinic, we paid exactly half the price for the same tests. After we received the results from the second clinic, they were slightly better, and we decided to try a procedure such as insemination. I wrote to this clinic about the procedure, and they replied in a very rude manner, saying that the test results were bad and that they could not do the procedure — implying, as I understood it, that we should consider other, more serious and expensive procedures. I then sent them my new test results and explained that they were better, and that I thought it was worth trying with these results. I also asked them to tell me the cost of this service. They told me it was $1,000. This is just madness. To be honest, I wrote to several clinics — four or five of them. In some clinics the price was also around $800, in others it was $500–700. But no one quoted $1,000 like they did; they turned out to be the most expensive. For those who know, this is a fairly simple procedure that does not require any especially complex technology or preparation. In the end, I found an excellent clinic where they performed a double procedure for me — once right before ovulation and once during ovulation — for 700 GEL.

Best fertility clinic in Tbilisi. As international patients, they have gone above and beyond our expectations and we are so happy we found this clinic. After ten years of struggling with unsuccessful fertility treatment at three clinics in two different countries, BetaPlus has given us a chance to be parents.

For years we fought for our miracle, and now the long-awaited moment has come when, by God's grace and with the help of this amazing team, we will become parents of twins.
